FBUA is currently finalising its national membership framework, member services and governance arrangements.
Our objective is to establish a membership model that delivers genuine professional value, meaningful representation and a sustainable platform for long-term member support.
Detailed membership categories, eligibility requirements, member rights, services and future fees will be published following completion of FBUA’s legal, governance and financial review.
FBUA membership is intended to provide members with a practical institutional home — a place to have a voice, access information and capability, participate in policy development, access structured support pathways and connect with a national professional community.
Founding Membership
The founding membership period is intended to remain free until 1 March 2027, reducing financial barriers while FBUA establishes its governance, services, national network and member base.
Join the movement. Help shape what comes next.
FBUA membership is being designed to provide practical professional value alongside meaningful representation and participation in the future of the finance broking profession.
Members will have access to developing services, capabilities, information and opportunities across the following areas:
Representation & Advocacy
A collective voice on matters affecting finance brokers and the wider broker workforce, informed by evidence, member feedback and structured engagement with relevant stakeholders.
Member Voice & Policy Participation
Opportunities for members to contribute ideas, industry evidence, feedback and concerns that can inform FBUA submissions, policy development, research and stakeholder engagement.
Research & Policy Institute
A developing institutional capability focused on industry research, intelligence, policy analysis and briefings across regulation, workforce, technology, integrity and market issues.
Broker Legal Protection & Access to Justice
A developing framework for independent legal assessment, triage, referral and, where appropriate, potential pathways to external representation or dispute funding.
Access will be subject to eligibility, conflicts, professional obligations and available funding.
Dispute Funding Pathways
FBUA is exploring arrangements with potential private funding partners that may consider eligible broker disputes where appropriate regulatory or dispute-resolution pathways have not produced an adequate resolution.
This is exploratory and does not guarantee funding, legal representation or a particular outcome.
FBUA Academy
Planned professional education and capability development covering leadership, regulation, professional practice, emerging risks and the changing skills requirements of the profession.
AI & Technology Transformation
Practical education and capability development focused on artificial intelligence, automation, productivity, risk controls and future-of-work changes affecting finance brokers.
National Broker Intelligence & Integrity
A developing capability focused on identifying emerging risks, integrity concerns, fraud themes and industry issues, with appropriate confidentiality, procedural fairness and due process.
Confidential Feedback & Protected Disclosures
Channels through which members can raise concerns, provide confidential feedback and make protected disclosures where appropriate, subject to applicable law and FBUA procedures.
Member Events & Black House Access
Invitations to relevant briefings, events, stakeholder engagements and professional gatherings, with the Black House serving as FBUA’s institutional home.
Member Communications & Industry Intelligence
Regular organisational, policy and industry information designed to help members understand developments affecting the profession.
Member Home & Office Support
FBUA is developing practical member-support initiatives that may include access to participating house-cleaning and corporate-office-cleaning providers.
The proposed rollout would begin in Victoria, allowing FBUA to establish provider standards, eligibility and booking arrangements before considering national expansion.
Phase 1 — Victoria: Establish participating providers, service standards, eligibility and booking arrangements.
Phase 2 — National: Expand the provider network to other states and territories, subject to provider capacity and commercial arrangements.
The objective is to create a genuine practical member benefit, rather than simply a discounted referral service, where FBUA’s arrangements permit.
Access to Justice
FBUA is developing an access-to-justice framework to help address a recurring challenge: a broker may face a significant professional dispute but have limited practical access to independent legal assessment, representation or appropriate funding.
FBUA is exploring whether private funding partners may be willing to assess and potentially fund eligible disputes where relevant regulatory or dispute-resolution pathways have been pursued but have not produced an adequate resolution.
Any such pathway would be subject to eligibility, legal assessment, conflicts requirements, professional obligations, funding criteria and the availability of an appropriate funding arrangement.
FBUA does not guarantee legal representation, dispute funding or any particular outcome.
